OL Coaches make great Head Coaches:
Andy Reid has a compelling argument as to why O-Line Coaches make great Head Coaches. Here's 8 reasons he gave:
Can reach the core of men while getting them to reach their potential
Know how to listen - Big ears, observing eyes & small voice until needed
Know that working together leads to success & know how to build it
Know the QB Position-what makes them tick
Don't expect or need compliments
In our own world - others don't understand it & underestimate how hard the job is
The GRIND- we understand toughness
We know repetition is crucial - repeat it daily
Any other position that you could say that about? He has a good case here:

Building Champions:
We are 3 sessions down with our Building Champions Series Presented by Field Turf & in Partnership with our media partner Dave Campbell's Texas Football. So far we've had Van Malone (Kansas State Assistant Head Coach), Scotty Walden (UTEP Head Coach) & Skyler Cassity (Sam Houston State DC) present. All 3 were dynamic, touched on how they are Building Champions at their school, & provided a ton of value for any Coach at any level who watches. We'll finish the series next week with:
Matt Nally (Melissa HS-TX) 5/27
Matt Cannata (Lamar University OL Coach) 5/28
You can watch those replays now & catch the next 2 sessions live at the link below:
Together with FieldTurf. Check them out here for more info:
Defense vs the other team's Defense:
Miami Defensive Coordinator Lance Guidry had an interesting take on how he measures the success of his Defense. It's not what his Defense does against the opponent's offense, but what his Defense vs the opponent's defense. Here's the video:
